Gratitude Journal: When Kids Can Be Kids

The Gratitude Journal is back from summer vacation!
Grateful? Share it here! Our community gratitude journal is open to all who?d like to express their thanks or share a happy thought. Send us your pics of your summer fun or your back-to-school smiles!

I am thankful for Camp Hobe, a camp for kids with cancer and their siblings. There both of our boys could be regular kids, and do regular, fun, kid stuff.

I?m grateful to (and inspired by) the mom who sent in this week?s Gratitude Journal picture. We can?t always control what happens to us, but we are in full control of how we choose to support each other.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. In the U.S., almost 13,000 children under the age of 21 are diagnosed with cancer every year. Approximately 1/4 of those kids will not survive the disease. Camp Hobe supports children with cancer from ages 4 to 19. Find out more at http://www.camphobekids.org/.

Every week we post a photo submitted by one of our readers along with all the happy and thankful comments gathered throughout the week.

To contribute, email your gratitude (a sentence or two would be great) or your favorite photo to Janine at janinek [at] berkeley [dot] edu.

You can also contribute gratitudes by commenting at the bottom of this post. Please include: your name if you?d like us to use it and any other info you?d like us to list, e.g., if the ?gratitude? is from one of your children, it would be great to know his or her age.
